Masterclass Sequence (2025 – 2026)
The BIM Masterclass Series is a collaborative CPD initiative by the Association of Construction Project Managers (ACPM) and Trident Engineering Institute, designed to address the digital skills gap in the built environment. With the growing importance of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in project delivery, this series aims to equip Construction Project Managers and allied professionals with practical, up-to-date BIM knowledge and tools. The purpose is to support industry transformation, enhance digital competency, and align with CPD requirements by offering structured, interactive learning that can also articulate into formal qualifications such as short courses, diplomas, or BSc degrees.
BACKGROUND & RATIONALE
The Association of Construction Project Managers (ACPM) and Trident Engineering Institute (TEI) have partnered to deliver a structured BIM Masterclass Series that bridges the digital-skills gap in the Southern-African built-environment sector. The programme translates TEI’s CPD-validated short courses and BSc degree modules into a five-hour, twice-monthly masterclass format. By doing so it:
-
- Democratises access to advanced BIM knowledge through concise, practitioner-oriented sessions.
- Creates a clear learning ladder: masterclass ➜ eight-week CPD short course ➜ Diploma / BSc credit.
- Aligns with new CPD policy requirements across SACPCMP, ECSA, SAIMechE and CPD UK.
Supports ACPM’s strategic objectives of digital adoption, professional excellence and industry transformation.
